This began with God choosing one man out of all the peoples and nations of the earth, for the purpose of entering into an everlasting covenant relationship with Abraham and his descendants. Abraham’s prolonged covenantal selection process was a prototype of ‘Shiddukhin,’ which established Abraham and his descendants as “members of God’s family” (Ephesians 2:19; NLT).
