By connecting these eras, it uncovers the central theme of the Bible narrative: “Cultivating and Maintaining a Healthy Covenant Relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

With this foundational insight, readers are taken on a transformative journey that redefines what it means to be a Christian, living in covenant fellowship with Jesus and reflecting His love daily. This book is grounded in biblical truth. It equips believers to apply the Gospel daily while preparing for Christ’s unexpected return.

excerpts:

As you have no doubt picked up on the major pattern from the three previous chapters, it is quite clear that God’s covenant relationship with Israel has been a direct reflection of the ancient Jewish wedding tradition.  This began with God choosing one man out of all the peoples and nations of the earth, for the purpose of entering into an everlasting covenant relationship with Abraham and his descendants.  Abraham’s prolonged covenantal selection process was a prototype of ‘Shiddukhin,’ which established Abraham and his descendants as “members of God’s family” (Ephesians 2:19; NLT).

In other words, these foundational lenses form a unique multilayered optic for focusing our heart’s onto God’s message, providing us with a profound tool of practical insight into the true heart, spirit, and underlying purpose behind the Biblical narrative.  Likewise, this enables us to view the Scriptures through the context in which they were written, for the sole purpose of allowing the Word of God to speak for itself.  And in this pursuit, what we are left with is the priceless overarching theme of the true Biblical narrative: “Cultivating and Maintaining a Healthy Covenant Relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

In light of this truth, these important teachings of Jesus reveal a powerful synergy – one that takes place between our ‘faith’ and the ‘focus of our spiritual vision’ – which has a tremendous effect on how we live our lives unto the Lord.  Much like a ship needs engines for propulsion and a rudder for steering; likewise, “conduct[ing] yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel [message] of Christ” (Philippians 1:27; BSB), requires your ‘propulsion of faith’ to be working in concert with the ‘rudder of your spiritual vision.’
